Ah, the grandeur! 5/30/22
Spur-of-the-moment excursions feel so adventurous, don’t they? Ryan and I both had the day off and the weather was shaping up to be lovely, so we decided to go for a drive. Though I never had trouble talking Ryan into driving since he took so much joy in owning and driving his ‘muscle car’. So off we headed for the Historic Columbia River Highway, which never disappoints.
The first stop was the Vista House with it’s grand views in both directions of the Columbia River Gorge. After copious numbers of pictures and ‘selfies’ we continued on through the many twists and turns. Driving on the Historic Highway, we can picture the old-time cars driving through the twists and turns with it’s old rock walls. There’s such a nice balance of viewpoints and forest canopy.
Pictured here is the famous Vista House seen from the viewpoint just a few miles away along the .Historic Columbia River Highway. After being ‘cooped’ up for most of the winter, how glorious it feels to enjoy a sunny, mild day. The wide open spaces and gorge breeze really do wonders for our moods…both Ryan and I are just so happy that Spring has arrived again! Seeing Mother Nature at it’s finest here gives me all sorts of ideas for new compositions…
A grand view even from the down at the waterfront.
